VW South Africa to invest R5 billion in its Eastern Cape plant, Some good investment news in a week that saw a plunging currency and weak economic data. Car maker Volkswagen SA has decided to invest 5 billion rand in its car manufacturing plant in Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape to produce two new models from 2017. It’s a big vote of confidence in the South African economy and will create hundreds of additional jobs.
